I feel like 311 is underrated. Despite their large following, I feel they should be bigger than they are.

They have a pretty niche sound. But Mahoney, Pnut, and Sexton are underrated musicians.

I wouldn't say Sexton's underrated...that guy is a drummer's drummer. Sucks he's famous with 311 cuz he has his completely own sound, but in my mind he's one of the best drummers of the last 20 years, and he's still got it. P-Nut is quite literally the reason I picked up the bass guitar, guys a madman on the 5-string (see Sometimes Jacks Rule the Realm [coda]) Some of the most beautiful bass ever recorded..imho
As for Mahoney, he's good but there are 1,000,000 other guitar players that could jump up there and hit his licks note for note.
