Hendrix owns Watchtower. Turn the page bores me to tears regardless. Another cover that is better than the original is Stones doing The Flying Burrito's "Wild Horses". Gram Parsons just doesn't give the feel Jagger does.

Is it really a cover if Jagger and Richards wrote the song?

I like listening to this song on a rural highway in early fall at dusk with the windows down. You sound like one of those people that can't sit still and just listen.

I don't like what cash did with hurt.

The downward spiral was a huge album to me growing up, that song always closed out an amazing concept album perfectly.

I don't think we'll ever know the truth about that anymore than some of Brian Jones's "supposedly" uncredited Jagger/Richards songs. I've seen the Muscle Shoals footage where Keith supposedly goes off to "finish" the song. I found that weird since it had already been out for a year and they really didn't change or add much to Parson's recording / arrangement. Heard the story that Parsons asked Keith to use the song, heard Parsons handed Keith the lyrics and it was a co-write, he gave Stones publishing rights.. Who knows. I always felt like it sounded much more like something Parsons would write rather than anything Keith did. Lots of urban legend about that... Jagger/Richards own writer's credit for the song and they did a better version of it.

Van Halen lead into "You really got me" with "Eruption" which makes it better IMO
