Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Wrote a Pop Album, And It's Fantastic!

For those not familiar with Omar, he's the guitarist / songwriter from At The Drive In and The Mars Volta. Most of his solo stuff has been pretty experimental, and great if you are a Mars Volta fan.
He recently announced that he'll be releasing 12, yes that's right 12 albums. I think all of it was recorded several years back. He's released 2 albums so far, and will release a new album every other week until the end of the year. The latest album is Corazones. It's a great album end to end, and could be AOTY for me. Sometimes it sounds very Bowie-ish, or sounds like The Cure, but still, it's clearly Omar, so there is something for those Mars Volta / ATDI fans.

Will definitely give a listen. Was a big fan of ATDI and Mars Volta, though Omar and Cedric always seemed like douche bags to me.
