quote:hey I like them too but just their older stuff. Cold plays new album was worse than this. They're trying to hard with the electronic sound and house music
I really like coldplay and the killers so prolly just disregard my opinion

The first 2 things I thought of were Coldplay and the Killers while listening to a couple of clips. If that's what they were after, they nailed it.

quote:I loved ATYCLB and HTDAAB. Every song on How to Dismantle is solid; they won album of the year with that one ( not that it really matters). Zooropa was a good album not great as a whole and Pop has some solid songs. I didn't care for No line, but my dad liked it a lot

I've followed the iTunes directions for download on both my phone and tablet and the album doesn't "show up" in my library as they stated it would. Anyone have a similar experience?
Yeah. I accessed my account via my laptop and used the iTunes help function. It steered me in the right direction and I had it downloaded in minutes.

Wasn't real big on "No Line" either, but "Magnificent" is the best U2 song in years.

They automatically put this garbage on my iPod and I can't delete it...WTF

Pop is (in my opinion) the most criminally underrated album of all time. It sucks to me that U2 got virtually no credit for branching out and making this insane mind-frick of a tour (the album wasn't quite as experimental as it was initially purported to be), but "Please" and "Gone" and "Mofo" are three of the best songs in U2's entire catalog. It is in my opinion the bookend of their "masterpiece" era: Joshua Tree / Achtung Baby / Pop.
It's easily better than anything more critically celebrated bands such as Radiohead or Pearl Jam or Bowie came out with in THEIR late 30's.
Best 14 minutes of music in history.

Not their best album, IMO. But I did see them in NO on that tour in 1997. Terrific show.

Yeah i like pop too. There's 3 to 5 really good songs on there

I'm pretty sure the pop tour was the last time they had New Orleans on their tour schedule. Nobody went apparently because Bono kept saying this is a dance album and nobody wanted that

It's one that had to grow on me and I think I like it now more than Zooropa.

you're missing one though.
I don't think there is a masterpiece era or it would be hard for me to define. I think of them as chapters. Some better than others.

"Atomic Bomb" has become one of my favorite albums of all time by any artist.

Pop and Zooropa are my 2 favorite U2 albums.
