Meh. You might jump off the ship, but plenty are staying and jumping on, and that is because this is quality music. It sucks that you can't get into it, but that doesn't mean that the musical depth isn't there.

Dude, we get it. You're the thread apologist.

Never said anything about depth. It's called "my preference".

I had my doubts about this after KOL, but I loved this upon first listen last night. Daydreaming is the weakest one for me, but Burn the Witch, Decks Dark, Ful Stop, Identikit and The Numbers are gorgeous. Lots of electronic layering with orchestra. Very pretty.

After 2nd listen, I think it's brilliant. My honest opinion, after really not like KOL at all.

You think its too slow?

Not enought going on?

Its pretty much an album full of ballads. I just read an interview that said Yorke and co. were trying to make almost a lullaby album to listen to while preparing for bed .

it fricking sounds like it. I love radiohead but this is a bunch of bullshite and I think a lot of people are afraid to have an honest opinion of radiohead because they're radiohead.

I don't mind "slow", but yeah, maybe an album full of that is a bit much. And I don't think everything has to be guitar, but their albums are starting to morph into Yorke solo albums, sound wise. I feel like I'm trying to convince myself to like these last two, and I probably should stop.

This album just isn't for me. The songs are well done, but it's just not something I will want to give repeated listens, unless I'm just in a sad and awful mood.

It's unfortunate because Burn the Witch is sooooo good.

I had a third listen just a while ago. Beautiful. To me it sounds like Kid A + HTTT + OK Computer all contributed DNA to make a unique hybrid... It's Radiohead but some of it does tread into some new (IMO beautiful) territory.

The music speaks for itself. Not much else to say.

It just seems lately that this band has become the Thom Yorke self-idulgence experiment

I can believe that. I tried my first listen through last night, in bed, with headphones. I made it to the beginning of The Numbers and had to turn it off because I was slipping in and out of consciousness

After a couple of listens I really like the album overall.

Decks Dark, Identikit, and the Numbers stand out as great tracks.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor Rich Man Poor Man Beggar Man Thief is also really good. The back end of the album is much better than the first (besides Burn the Witch). I think my initial disappointment came from expecting the album to be like Burn the Witch all the way through with a more up tempo feel.

Album was much better once I sat down and took it in with headphones.(I guess most are )

I don't really care for what They have become, and I don't really mind where They are.

Listened for the first time last night. Beautiful album. I listened to half of it in my car on the way home, and half in my living room, so I want to give it another listen on some headphones.

I think that the pace is fine, but I'm not one that judges an album based on the number of "fast" or "uptempo" songs it has on it. I quite enjoy slow, dark songs. I really dig the layered, sound-scapish feel of it, and it's score-like qualities. Listening to "Daydreaming" on the way home, driving into an incredible sunset going over downtown was wonderful.

These songs will be kickass live too.

I think it's funny how someone said it's the "Thom Yorke Show " or whatever, because Johnny is all over the album, and it seems like he had a large hand in the direction. I think it's a great effort from everyone in the band really.

I also liked it a bit better on second listen, but still don't love it. Hell. I think KOL was better.

That said, I really hope they do one of those live "From the Basement" versions of this album.

I think some of Moon Shaped Pool will play much better live than the studio version. The In Rainbows version from the basement in incredible.
