Those albums are actually pretty good. Don't be jealous that Iggy sells out Arenas while Black Map is going to sell out roller rinks

I think The Wall as an album lacked any pretense of subtlety

I thought it was overwordy, way overblown, and I thought it was so depressing that frankly who even gives a shite

I thought it was about 10 songs too long, and it has numerous tracks that are such throwaways that they are basically required skips anytime you listen to it

I thought it was way too lyric dominated of an album for a band that was always better at atmosphere and just playing thier fricking instruments than singing

And as a big fan of prog, which yea lol I only listen to jambands herp derp, I feel like I could recognize that line between excessive and just enough in a prog album, and the Wall is WAY too fricking much

There frick face, there are some of the reasons I don't like the Wall

And then you have Ziggy, and album that was a concept album, but the album wasn't dominated by it's concept to the point that it overwhelmed it. it's kinda about space, and about this band from mars and some androgynous space hero, and thats about it. It had subtlety.

Not to mention it is the essential album in an entire little mini-music movement, English glam rock of the early 70's, and that it influenced a shitload of bands not only in sound, but in creating a whole marketable alter-ego to go with the album.

Not to mention Mick Ronson can fricking murder a guitar.

It is pretentious to say you are bisexual when you aren't.
