FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CLUTCH TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM “PSYCHIC WARFARE” OCTOBER 2ND 2015
July 8th 2015 - Clutch, the influential heavy rock band from Maryland, will release its eleventh studio album “Psychic Warfare” October 2nd via their own label Weathermaker Music. The album was produced by longtime producer Machine (Lamb Of God, Every Time I Die) and consists of 12 new tracks. “The title ‘Psychic Warfare’ is taken from the track, ‘X-Ray Visions” states singer Neil Fallon. “It’s a tale about an unnamed protagonist who is forced to seek refuge in a flop house motel. He is hiding from several nefarious psychic forces, the worst of which is his own sleep deprived paranoia.” The album cover was designed by renowned photographer Dan Winters.
Clutch is comprised of vocalist/guitarist Neil Fallon, drummer Jean-Paul Gaster, guitarist Tim Sult, and bassist Dan Maines.
“Psychic Warfare” track listing:
01 The Affidavit
02 X-Ray Visions
03 Firebirds
04 A Quick Death in Texas
05 Sucker For The Witch
06 Your Love is Incarceration
07 Doom Saloon
08 Our Lady of Electric Light
09 Noble Savage Clutch
10 Behold the Colossus
11 Decapitation Blues
12 Son Of Virginia
Clutch have been pushing the boundaries that define heavy rock music since the four original members got together in high school. Clutch is an unmatched musical force that has been best described as “the quintessential American Rock Band”. They released their tenth studio album Earth Rocker via their own label Weathermaker Music on March 16, 2013. The album entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #15 giving the band their highest chart position to date.
Clutch’s Earth Rocker reached #1 on the Rock Chart and #4 on iTunes' overall Top 100 album chart. Earth Rocker was awarded “Album of The Year” by Metal Hammer and garnered a Top 10 spot on Rolling Stone’s “Top 20 Metal Albums of the Year”. Rolling Stone further enthused: “Four Maryland lifers — road dogs who've been grinding since the early Fugazi administration, cranking out seething admixtures of jam-band chops, careening blues-punk riffs and singer Neil Fallon's nerdy, piss-taking wiseass lyrics — release their hardest rocking set to date. Look for a go-go break (and some clever punning on the phrase "drop the bomb!) on ‘D.C. Sound Attack!’ Inspirational verse: “if you're gonna do it/ do it live on stage/ or don't do it at all.”
Clutch will be touring extensively in 2015 to support the effort. A string of shows, including festival dates have been announced leading up to the release.
08/15 - GwarBQ @ Hadad's Lake - Richmond, VA
09/04 - The Joint @ The Hard Rock Hotel - Las Vegas, NV - special guest for Primus
09/19 - The Shindig @ Carrol Park - Baltimore, MD
09/20 - The Rock Carnival @ Oak Ridge Park - Clark, NJ
10/24 - Aftershock Festival - Sacramento, CA
10/25 - Knotfest @ San Manuel Amphitheater - San Bernardino, CA
10/31 - Voodoo Festival - New Orleans, LA

I hope it's stronger than Earth Rocker. There were a couple great songs on it but the rest, esp. the title track, were just meh at best.

Just heard it for the first time today. Was gonna start a thread but did the search and saw this one. I was REALLY in a haze from 07/29 - 08/02 for my brother-in-law's wedding.

But YES!!! X-Ray Visions is damn strong. Kinda reminds me a little of 50,000 Unstoppable Watts. That may be mostly due to Neil's singing, but the music has a few moments as well that remind me of it. Can't wait for the full album!!

And HELL YES!!! The classic logo is back!!!

And I can't argue too much with you here. Very good album but not close to my favorite of theirs. Probably fifth or sixth on the list if not even a little lower.

Clutch and COC at Jannus Live in St. Pete on Sunday October 4th. Man what a cool venue:

Jannus Live -- St. Pete

Gonna do everything in my power to catch that show. But I will most likely be working out of state somewhere.

Well damn you!!!

Caloosa... Does that indicate where you are? They're also hitting up Fort Lauderdale. That one is Saturday the 3rd.

ETA: Which one would you even be closer to? Hell I don't know.

Cool. So you definitely going?

I'm talking to a buddy about it, but he's very shaky in terms of being dependable enough. Hell, I haven't made a concert road trip since before I was married and had kids. And that's 19 years. But this is one that is DEFINITELY worth trying to break that streak for. Again... IF I'm even here in Jax at the time.

Anyone listen to this yet? It reminds me more of Robot Hive/Exodus than anything else. There's a good mix of straight up rock and slower, bluesy stuff. My favorite songs are X-Ray Visions, A Quick Death in Texas, Decapitation Blues, and Son of Virginia. Its all on youtube right now. Definitely another solid album from them.

Good choices all. On my list I'm definitely adding Doom Saloon/Our Lady Of Electric Light. Fantastic.

Another awesome release for Clutch. Not surprising in the least.
