Musicians throughout history that go totally unnoticed...

With technology and Internet and things such as YouTube, it's fairly easy to get noticed today.
I was just thinking of how many incredibly talented musicians over the last 100 years were never noticed for their abilities due to location of life circumstances.
For example, a farmer in small town Nebraska that worked the fields for 15 hours a day, but every evening would settle down with a guitar in hand. Over the years, he may have gotten good--really good. But the reality of bills and farming never let him venture out to "make it".
I am guessing this was quite common during the 1930's to the 1960's.
Feel free to expand on this deep thought of mine

Not qualified to expand on this but the idea that Mozart died unheralded and was buried alone, with no mourners present, is as big as an injustice of this nature as I could imagine

The documentary "searching for sugar man" is incredible and highlights the topic of this thread in an unbelievable way. It really fricked with my head for a few days after watching it the first time. Life is not fair.
