Will Kubley - Passafire
Spencer Burton - Indubious
Kyle Mcdonald - Slightly Stoopid
Aaron Wills aka P-Nut - 311
Rocco Prestia - Tower of Power
Pino Palladino - John Mayer Trio
John Deacon - Queen
Owen Biddle - The Roots
Dirk Lance - Incubus
Tal Wilkenfeld - Jeff Beck

That's what I've got off top my head. I can think of a bunch more, but I wouldn't call those guys underrated.

I don't know about Most Underrated of All Time, but ... the late Skip Battin could play bass. You'll see a great example of his musicianship from his time with the Byrds: 8 Miles High, live at the Filmore, 1970. Dude kicks bass arse:

Thats just from his wiki page.

I submit Marvin Gaye's bassist Frank Blair. The grooves he laid down on 'Funk Me' were sublime.

Coming behind Jamerson he had some big shoes to fill. Both Blair and Frank Bates were very good players.

Underrated to those not familiar with the genre-Steve Harris, Iron Maiden.
If you are a hard rock/metal fan...you know what I mean.

Bernard Edwards. C'est Chic was the first album I ever bought. I was mesmerized by his bass lines. This was his last show. He died later that night in his hotel room in Tokyo.

Not sure I'd call Tal Wilkenfeld underrated, she's just not a mainstream performer. I'd call her pretty fricking hot...err...I mean kinda unknown with regards to popular music.

Berry Oakley's melodic thumping is rarely ever talked about, but considering the shortage of material, I understand. His interplay between lead/lead/rhythym guitars plus double percussionists is mesmerizing.
