Elliott Smith is incredible. He definitely is one of the most underrated musicians of our time.

I was always a huge fan of the Hold Steady. Their early stuff is badass.

Blackberry Smoke- they sound like skynyrd jr and write some very good songs.

Hank 3- What country music is supposed to sound like.

Lightnin Hopkins- old man with a $50 acoustic guitar crooning the best blues ever sung= 1 badass mofo.

Oh yeah.

I only own Tomorrow The Green Grass. The stations I make on music apps always play Jayhawks. I know lots of the songs. I just assumed they were all on that album. I went back and looked, and I was so wrong. I know stuff from most and am not sure how.

I could listen to Save It For A Rainy Day all day every day.

I grew up in south Louisiana but never heard about Professor Longhair until about 10 years ago (other than a couple of his well known Mardi Gras songs). Most of my friends from Louisiana don't even know his story and he's even more underrated nationally.

His early music only played on black radio so he wasn't as well known but that led to influencing Elvis and others. I've always loved the sound of Hey Now Baby and the lyrics of Junco Partner (in addition to his bigger hits like Tipitina and the collaborative Big Chief).

Deftones - Should be one of the biggest hard rock/metal bands in the world

Interpol - Should be just as big as the Strokes. They've put out better albums imo

I could name about 50 more but I'll go with them as my nomination.
