It's not so much the songs as it is when and how often they are played. I like giving my holidays time to breathe so I don't need to hear any Christmas music more than a week ahead of Christmas and I certainly don't need to hear them the day after Halloween. I need to hear Alice's Restaurant long before I start hearing Christmas songs.

Paul McCartney is a fantastic musician, but “Wonderful Christmas Time” is not his best work. I want to punch the radio when that song plays.

I don't mind his version but that song has some of the worst cover versions of any Christmas song ever. There are some exceptions but generally I hate it when people try to modernize Christmas songs. Making a Christmas song sound like every other song on a top 40 radio station today does not improve it.

Mariah Carey's tune is ice picks to the ears. The same with Wham's Last Christmas and Paul's Wonderful Christmas Time. Those 3 drive get pretty annoying after hearing them for the 1,284,283 time by Dec 26.
