I REALLY liked te album the first time I heard it.

It's now taking over my life and ALL I listen to. It keeps getting better and better. I might have a problem.

giving it a listen, finally. Lose Yourself to Dance, as mentioned by many in here, is outstanding.

The Pitchfork review called "Lose Yourself to Dance" the weakest song on the record.

The album is just OK. They really got away from what made them famous and amazing and gave us something that is basically all elevator music in my mind. I've seen Daft Punk before and I just can't imagine them doing this stuff live and it be any fun. Like I said its OK but not amazing, great or unbelievable. Alive 2007 was amazing, discovery was amazing, homework was amazing but this is just OK. Their weakest album they have put out.

Finally got around to DL'ing the album. It's great. I've been jamming at my desk all afternoon.

Lose Yourself to Dance, Give Life Back to Music, Get Lucky, Giorgio by Moroder, and Contact are all perfect 10's. Really the only songs I disliked were Touch and Game of Love.

You give Within 5 * and Contact only 3 * ? Wow

Contact started out a 5 * and then I got to the end and was like "wtf is this shite"

It has since grown on me and I would definitely bump its rating. I've just been too busy enjoying the music and too lazy to change the ratings. The ratings were done on my initial listen through.

I just drove up and back from Birmingham today (2 hours each way) and listened exclusively to RAM the entire time. I can honestly say that there isn't a bad song on the album and give them all a minimum of 4 stars.

eta: Also super excited for my CD and Vinyl to get in tomorrow.

I don't think I could disagree with you more.

Yes, it's different, but I love the direction they've gone. I take it as a big frick you to all the dubstep that sounds exactly the same. Touch was the only one that I couldn't get into after a listen, but now I like that one as much as any of the others.

Well thank god they were never a Dubstep act in the first place. Daft Punk got famous because of their house tracks in French clubs and unbelievable house/disco albums. Like I said seeing them at coachella like 6 years ago may have ruined me but I am just not the biggest fan of this album. I mean they made us wait 8 years almost for a new studio album and this is the best they can do? I think it's fair to hold them to the highest of standards especially since they bridged the gap between underground and mainstream in the early 2000's

It's good but not great and I'm with you. They wanted to do something different and did, can't complain just was expecting different. Some hate it some love it, that's life I guess

Dude, have you ever heard of evolution?

The guys in Daft Punk were 21 years old when "Da Funk" was made. They are now quickly approaching 40 years old. You didn't think they would change? frick I hope I am not doing the same stuff at 40 as I was when I was 21.

I love Random Access Memories , although I admittedly am a huge funk/disco fan. I obviously also like Daft Punk's earlier house stuff as that is what got me into them. By the way, supposedly they are going to remix RAM themselves so I would expect some "club bangers" (douche chills writing that) on it.
