By the way, the Spotify playlist Urban Poet is a great compilation of more indie hip hop.

Logic. I'm late to the game but this dude can spit. I first discovered him on "Sucker for Pain" for the Suicide Squad movie soundtrack and went look him some of his stuff. Probably the better lyricist out now.

Yeah man. You can just put Logic on Pandora and don't have to press the skip button. To me, that's good music

Hermans Head - Kwest Tha Madd Lad

Earth People - Dr Octagon

Revenge - Louis Logic

7th Seel - Freestyle Fellowship

Phesto - Phesto

I've only heard a few logic songs, but I've loved the ones I heard. Just listened to 5 a.m. for the first time. Loved it.

TUT-Had an awesome debut project last year with Preacher's Son. Heavy Outkast influence, works a lot with TDE member Isaiah Rashad.

Cousin Stizz-Boston MC who just came out with a great album called Monda. His previous tape Suffolk County was great too. Very spacy and chill vibe with gritty street inspired lyrics and a slow, easy flow.

Noname-female Chicago MC who just came out with a beautiful mixtape, Telefone. She's appeared on a lot Chance the Rappers stuff. She rhymes almost more like a poet than a rapper and I think it's awesome. Super unique.

Bas-a young rapper signed to J.Cole's Dreamville imprint, Bas released his sophomore album Too High to Riot this year. Incredible tape, one of my favorites this year by far.

Denzel A.K Curry-21 year old rapper out of Miami. Formerly a member of a very Raider Klan. Heavily influenced by the early work of Triple 6 Mafia. Dropped the superb Imperial mixtape earlier this year.

EARTHGANG-duo consisting of rappers Johnny Venus and Doctur Dot out of Atlanta. Another group that appears to have been heavily influenced by Outkast. I'd highly recommend checking out their LP Strays with Rabies. Really good project.

Vince Staples-Long Beach rapper who dropped perhaps my 2nd favorite album of 2015 with the instant classic Summertime '06. Vince gives off a very 90's west coast vibe and the album doesn't have a single disappointing track on it.

Great list. Vince's album was the best of that year, though. ;)
