Nothing wrong with a little Lenny, but bigger than Winwood? I don't know....

Yea no shite.

Wouldn't mind seeing Lenny but hardly a bigger name than Elton John like he said

I'm sure he said that before they even had someone booked then had to resort to Lenny when all of the top targets fell through.

But damn Jazzfest blows this year. I'll be sticking to the late nights.

I think he was. Here's a quote from an article a couple of weeks ago...

quote:

It will be a prominent artist, one who is, in the grand scheme of popular music, more prominent than Steve Winwood, the second-billed act on May 3. If tradition holds, this final artist will be the second-to-last act on the Acura Stage that Sunday afternoon. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will likely close the Acura Stage on the final Sunday, as they have for the past two years. The TBA will probably precede Shorty, like Arcade Fire in 2014 and the Black Keys in 2013.

Davis remains tight-lipped about this act's identity. He hinted that it's somebody who will be on the road this spring. The Jazz Fest booking isn't 100 percent confirmed, he said this week, because the artist must still resolve some logistical issues in order to actually make the gig

Kravitz has nothing else booked in the USA this year.

I'd almost rather a huge Kravitz/Shorty set. That'd be pretty fantastic.

I like Lenny too, but QD should have just kept his fat mouth shut till the dotted line was signed (if, in fact, Kravitz was a backup plan).

The release of this may have had to do with Super Bowl contracts--Lenny may not have been able to announce any other big festivals before appearing at the SB.

Ya and I'm just saying that someone could construe it as a very big name cause if SB

For all of about 45 seconds

By that logic, booking Missy Elliott as a headliner would make sense as well.

Kravitz played for what, 1/5th of the performance? And it was playing a song that was only selected as a LGBT PR move.

Did Q go to Tulane?
