Laura Branigan's best song is "Self Control" which Art Bell played many late nights on Coast to Coast AM.

Laura Branigan - "Self Control"

"I...I live among the creatures of the night

I haven't got the will to try and fight

Against a new tomorrow, so I guess I'll just believe it

That tomorrow never comes..."

Both can bring it vocally. Branigan is a little more polished, Tyler as far as best song. Both are awesome.

I had no idea Laura Branigan passed away until doing a search for this post. Damn. Anywho - Agree on Self Control being her best song.

Have to hear both women singing live to determine who wins the head to head, IMO.

So much bad "playback" on live performances in the mid 80s-90s to sift through.

Laura Branigan - Self Control (live) 1990

Bonnie Tyler - Holding out for a hero (Live) DEFINITELY early 80s

I gotta give Tyler the nod for power.

Bonnie Tyler had health issues of her own following her "golden age"...Throat surgery post-op complications almost took her voice entirely). She sounds a lot raspier now (yes - it's actually possible) but the power is definitely still there.

Recent "Holding Out For a Hero" (live)

Laura...

Cuz dude in the mask smashed her and just split...and she didn't seem to mind.

Bonnie would be crying about her eclipsed clit and stalk mask dude for a long time

Not to mention, there's a clip of "Gloria" on Megadeth's first album.

Laura smashing genre boundaries in '85.

Bonnie had...well...Kevin Bacon.
