Been hearing incredible things about the Tabernacle for years and been dying to see a show there. Lucky as hell that the month I'm here for work it just happens to have a show like this one.

It's gonna be off the chain!!!

LOG is one of the best live bands in the world. You'll enjoy that show. Ive seen them a few times and theyve blown the roof off of the place.

Yeah man I've seen Anthrax four times already, though it has been awhile. Never have seen LoG though. Can't wait.

Will be there tonight as well

Tabernacle is a great place to catch a show. Looking forward to see seeing both LOG and Anthrax because I've never seen them before. Also, excited to see what all the hype about Deafheaven is about. Not a black metal fan at all.

I'm so pissed that this tour didn't stop through Louisiana. Lamb of God played a pretty short set while supporting Slipknot this summer, and I only caught about 75% of an Anthrax performance at Mayhem Fest several years ago.

Incredible!!!

And yes, The Tabernacle was everything I'd heard and hoped for. What a show!

We're up in Ashford Dunwoody and working til 7 each night so we didn't see them. I had checked 'em out on youtube a few nights ago. They were rather "interesting". Didn't really do it for me.

Holy Cow though man. We had perfect timing. Ubered from the hotel and got there about 30 minutes before Anthrax. And they killed it. Floor was packed but once they started we snaked our way up pretty quickly.

And Lamb of God was just fantastic!!!

MAN that was a good time!!!

Yeah man I was just lucky to be here because I can assure you this show is not hitting Jax.

Although they will both be in Jax for a Festival in April.

Good to hear and yes that show was killer! I don't think the pit stopped during Anthrax and LOG. Blythe is a hell of a frontman. Agree on Deafheaven. Their music is great but I can't get passed the black metal vocals.

Agreed. Yeah the I think the music itself is actually pretty good. Oddly, I could swear it almost seems like metal with a Broken Social Scene type of sound in ways. I could be way off though.

The vocals though are just a really odd mix with the music to me.

I saw in another thread you said you're going to the Black Tusk show Sunday. I want to catch that one too. The Earl is another venue that just looks to me like it's cool as hell.

Will definitely be there on Sunday. The Earl is a great small venue and East Atlanta Village is a really cool area. I saw Baroness there in December and it was one of the best shows I've been to in a long time. I'm actually going more for Royal Thunder on Sunday. Their album Crooked Doors is awesome. Honestly, I'm only really familiar with Black Tusk because of the Savannah metal scene but I'm looking forward to checking them out too.

Cool. Not 100% sure yet but definitely want to go. It's our last weekend here though and some of the peeps are talking about cooking out at the hotel and some other shite. I could very possibly skip that though.

If you see a guy with a purple LSU hat on with the Tiger Eye on front that's most likely me. Probably my Clutch shirt too. Either that or Crowbar.

I had never heard of them until I saw them open for the Sword in N.O. a couple months back. They blew both my buddy I went with and I away. Mlny Parsons has one of the most awesome voices I've heard in quite a while and the songs are strong as hell. I really like both CVI and Crooked Doors, but neither of them really do justice to their live sound.

I gotta admit, I couldn't see Mlny too good when I saw them. With that voice, I actually thought she was a dude until most of their set was over and I finally got to step up closer. I have personally never seen another woman sing live with that kind of power. That only contemporary I can imagine that I've heard would be Elin Larson of Blues Pills, and that's just going by that live album they released last year. But even she doesn't seem to have that insane timbre in her voice that Mlny has.

She and the guitar player Josh have a pretty crazy back story.

Yo NachoReb. Good meeting you at The EARL after Black Tusk. Sorry for my, er, "condition", if it was obvious. My buddies and I wanted to see the Patriots-Broncos game, and I remembered you saying that East Atlanta Village is a cool area as a whole. So we ubered out there around 3:30 and started things off at the Midway Pub. So clearly we had been at it for awhile. LOL.

But yeah we all really enjoyed the area as a whole. We also hung out at The EARL after Midway and then across the street at Argosy for a little bit before going back to The EARL. You were right. Definitely a cool area. We want to hit it up again for sure.

I'll be back out there for Pallbearer on the 26th, if not before.

Yeah man, good to meet you as well. Midway, the Earl, and Argosy are all some of my favorite spots in Atlanta. Pallbearer will be a game time decision for me but when it gets closer I'll let you know.

And I was wrong. Looked at googlemaps and it was actually the bar at The Elder Tree we went to and not Argosy. Will have to check out Argosy as well.
