Well, she didn't on Sunday where she had about 5 times the US audience than she will at the Grammy's. Come to think of it I can't think where she has ever trashed America that I've seen.

Almost as metal as suing Napster.

Remember when avril lavigne covered Fuel (some MTV salute to metallica)? This at least can't be that bad.

I really don't understand the praise from the Super Bowl performance other than her voice, but that's not some new revelation.

Did I miss something?

I actually don't think it'll be half bad. She's a huge metal fan.

Apparently Metallica has no self-respect or integrity left.

this just jogged my memory but I can't recall specifics. Isn't there some video of avril lavigne that is one of the most cringe inducing videos ever made? I think it's avril, she's covering a hard rock band but I don't think it was metallica.

The show was called MTV Icon: Metallica. Avril covered Fuel. The show also featured Korn, Limp Bizkit, Sum 41, and Snoop Dogg. It as awesome as it sounds.

Avril Lavigne - Fuel

Snoop Dogg - Sad But True

Lady Gaga and Avril Lavigne are not equals in any sense of the word.

I made it through more of that than I thought I would. Still as bad as I remember it being.

dang it, thanks for the link but that's not what I was referencing. I can't remember for the life of me what it was but I'm almost certain it was avril. She's covering a hard rock song and I remember it is so incredibly cringeworthy that you're lucky to make it past about 10 seconds.

Lady Gaga is no doubt a rare talent but I can't help but feel so of her songs (notably "Born This Way") seem quite derivative

Born This Way sounds a whole lot like Madonna's Express Yourself. She is still a great songwriter, though.
