Katy Perry needs better song-writers

Where is Burt Bacharach and Neil Sedaka when you need them?
I try to keep an open mind about music, but her songs are just so boring, and I hesitate to even call them songs. There's no melody and they're almost like talking. She has a good voice, but no worthwhile material at all.
I was really impressed with the special effects of her halftime show, but if that was a sample of her best songs, she's got nothing.
Why is she so popular?

I thought her legs looked a little "chunky". Not what I was expecting. That said, I'll let her eat crackers anywhere in my house.

This is the problem I have with pop music in general. It's beats plus talk-singing or show off over-singing. Pop music with strong melodies has been dying a slow death since rap started to infiltrate top 40 decades ago. That's true for music and vocals.

I am of the opinion that she cant sing a lick. I think songs made to show off her vocal range would be a travesty. That's why they stick to the over dubbed talk- singing with occasion bouts of ear drum rupturing screams and mating whale bellows. The puppeteers know that's what the masses have been duped into recognizing as music as long as there's some nice tits and a dumb whore persona.

Pretty sure she writes and co-writes almost all of her own music.. Plus..If I had to listen to anything of the Pop variety she's the only one at the moment i'd honestly listen to
