I just watched her perform.

Wow, She's the best white female R&B singer I've seen since Janis Joplin.

Here's a YouTube video of her singing.

I've always liked her and saw her at the N.O. Jazz Fest when she was 17, I think. Comparing her to Janis Joplin reminded me of the tribute to Janis at the Grammy Awards. Joss singing "Cry Baby" and Melissa Etheridge (fresh from breast cancer treatment) totally ripping it up on "Piece of my Heart". Melissa's voice is more similar to Janis' gravelly delivery.

I'd hit that so good she would never be able to sing the blues again.

Great set of pipes on her. Teeth are pretty darn good too, especially for a Brit.

she dated Raphael Saadiq of Tony Toni Tone for a while. I like a lot of his solo stuff as well.

I am not familiar with Raphael Saadiq or Tony Toni Tone but I like Joss Stone's way of relating to her audience.

Here's an example. While she was singing a song she wrote after she was dumped, she sang one line that said "...just leave me alone..." then she stopped singing and jokingly told her audience, "I don't mean you should leave."

I really think she is the next Janis Joplin.

BTW, Congrats, SirWinston. You did a great job taking on the Trumpophobes on the PT!!!

Soul Sessions is one of my all time favorite records...and she was practically just a kid when she recorded it.

I have all of her stuff. She's legit, and has a real unique sound.

Cute how she performs barefoot.
