Never been but I would like to go this Saturday (25th) to see one or two of the last acts. I cannot leave Baton Rouge before 1:00 - am I going to be wasting my time if I drive down this late? If not, where should I look to park? Any other advice for one who has never been and cannot make a full day out of it?

Getting there at 2:00 or 2:30 wouldn't be bad, especially if there is someone you really want to see. Being out there for 5 hours will definitely suffice. Also, even though the actual festival ends around 7, there is no shortage of phenomenal shows in the city that night. Check out Jazz Fest grids for a full schedule.

As far as parking goes, I'd try the park and ride service at City Park by Marconi Meadows. If you aren't too familiar with the area parking around the Fairgrounds itself can be a pain in the arse and by 2:00 pm most good spots will be gone anyway. Personally I ride a bike so if you could park at a friend's house within cycling distance I'd also encourage that.

I've taken a shuttle every time I've gone but may be standing at the entrance gate this year. Anyone know what time I should get there on a busy fri/sat to set up some decent seats?
