Jason Isbell's full new album stream on NPR

Just listened to the whole thing. Not as good as southeasterm , but still pretty damn good.

You can tell he's a much happier person now than when he wrote Southeastern. Def lacks the hooks and incisive cuts of SE. Production sounds a bit off on some tracks too. Vocals seem turned way up.

I need to listen to it a few times before really grading it. Besides the obvious "24 Frames," I'm enjoying "How to forget" the most.

He is just in my Wheel-house. I like everything by him. I love If it takes a lifetime.

Listened to the whole thing, twice, in traffic this AM.

Really good end to end. Agreed some of the production seems off, which I am hopefully attributing to streaming. Will get the CD.

I've had it for a week or so. It is a damn strong album.

I'm two songs from being through my first listen, and it's been pretty damn good. Maybe not SE good, but to ask someone to have back to back albums on that level would be like expecting a batter to maintain a .385 two years in a row.
