Just bought my ticket for Thursday night. I wish the Texas/Red Dirt guys would just bypass BR and come to New Orleans, but it doesn't happen that often. IIRC, Stoney Larue was supposed to do it, but he is dealing with...you know. Last guy I saw there was REK, and that was probably 7 years ago. Just tired of driving up to BR and back all in one night.
This is the first time I have used the Live Nation website, and it fricking blows. Making me sign up for spam emails just to buy tickets? frick that. Coupons all over the actual ticket? frick that. No will call. Slow arse website. PITA for sure

So I'm gonna be the lone ranger at this show? Hopefully people show up so he'll come back again

I caught him a few times in BR about 10 years ago and their was almost nobody there. He said he didn't have much luck in LA and it would probably be awhile before he came back through. Even though the crowd was small at all the shows, he still played like it was packed.

I've seen REK in both situations, and when it was empty, he was not enthused at all.
Hopefully some people show up tonight

Was fricking awesome as usual. Excited about the new album. I went outside to smoke when they played the fighting chicken song
No set list, but he played most of these songs in a different order LINK
Favorite new one LINK
Eta: I have seen them every chance I get for close to 15 years, and they just consistently put on awesome show after awesome show. Definitely worth a night out for anyone (plus the women are always )

It's a small venue (parish room), so it was perfect

Well, it is New Orleans. I don't really expect many people down here to listen to that type of music. The door guy said probably 90% of the people there were from TX

He's playing a free show at Hill's Cafe in Austin on Wednesday if anyone is interested.
