One band I have never been able to get into is Korn. I haven’t tried too much, only have heard a handful of their songs, but I can’t get past Jonathan Davis’s voice. It’s just…weird sounding.

I’m a big metal-head and enjoy a lot of bands from Korn’s era. Should I really give Korn a chance and look deeper into their catalogue, or is it not worth it?

I mean, they’re an incredibly influential and innovative band which nearly every metal band since claims as an influence or inspiration, but I never really liked them. Just because a band is “important” doesn’t mean everyone will enjoy them. You don’t have to make yourself like a band just because they’re a big deal. One can respect a group for their impact and still not enjoy listening to them.

Jonathan Davis' voice doesn't change. If you don't like it now your probably never will. I'm not a big fan of everything they've done but they have some really great albums in their catalog.

I did, but in hindsight there’s no reason to go past their debut s/t album. That album still gets spins from me, but I have no desire to listen to any of their other stuff anymore.

That clickety clackety bass drives me absolutely insane. Worse than jackhammer double bass drums with double bass pedals. Yuck!

If you have to try, it's probably not worth it.

Au contraire, there are a few albums that I almost hated the first few times I heard them, only to see them become some of my favorite albums. The Shins “Oh, Inverted World” is an example.

Now, I have come around to loving something later, that I initially hated before, but I attribute that more to my tastes changing and knowing more about music than I did before. I didn't have to try. It just happened.

I still watch their few minute intro at 99 Woodstock everyonce in a while for nostalgia. So much going on both on the stage and the crowd. Then he hits that "Are you ready" and the sea of people goes nuts.

They are touring this summer I read. 2000 version of me is excited to go see them. Of course I just had a blast at Kid Rock show.

Korn is a vibe. They basically have a novel when it comes to great songs they've made over the years.

I can't stand nu metal, but I actually really like and respect Korn.

Korn has had a great career

Their first 5 albums were pretty damn good and each album since they’ve had a few bangers off each.

They are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year of their first album.

Mad respect. They have a very unique sound.

I'd say so. They have some really great stuff (except when Head left and they tried to write an album or two without him). Although I really dig alot of the songs over the years, they are all hits or misses. On any given album I love at least half the songs and dislike the others. But the ones they hit on hit hard.

Love some Korn. They are the best when seen live. Top of my bucket list to. Self titled, Life is Peachy, Follow the Leader, Issues, all great albums. Their performance of “Blind” at Woodstock ‘99 is legendary.

Limp Bizkit is bad, but the fun kind if bad. It’s hard to appreciate that band until you’re drunk at a bar, party, or concert and everyone is losing their minds throwing down to some Fred Durst. It’s bad, but fun.

Rage only appeals to you if deep down inside you’re still an angsty teenager who hates authority and wants to let some demons out for a few minutes in a way that won’t get you arrested. I completely understand why it doesn’t appeal to a lot of people, especially people who grew up places with mostly positive interactions with police. One thing I learned as an adult was that not all police departments are the same. Some are great and really care about public safety. Some suck majorly and wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire unless they could throw a fine at you on top.
