Definitely a song I could see myself getting high to in the 60s. Other than that, it's just okay.

I especially like the cheesy drum solo, caveman lyrics and the groove-a-delic elephant sounds Erik Brann makes with his Mosrite surf guitar near the song's end. Heh-VEE!

I met these guys on a plane once and they were pretty cool, offering me a ticket to their concert that night, asking me to join them for a drink. Way, way back in the day.

Played it too many times in Tiger Band & Bengal Brass to ever want to hear it again.

Exactly right. It was an epic song of the day. It took up one side of an album which was a first.

I wouldn't have the patience to listen to it today, but it was a huge event when it was released.

Perfect counterpart to Doug Ingle's throat cancerish vocals.

I read where it was supposed to be "In the garden of Eden" but the dude was to stoned to pull it off. So, they just went with it.

Every time I hear this song it reminds me of the climactic scene in the movie "Man Hunter" with William Peterson.

That sounds like the "rock" and/or "roll".

this was one of the songs the DJ would put on when he needed a bathroom break.

It was probably the go to record for 8 to 10 years on rock and AOR stations until the extended live version of Frampton's, "Do You Feel Like We Do" became a huge hit.

Like the music, the lyrics/delivery was always off putting to me. No idea why.

Speaking of Iron Butterfly, they also had a ridiculous number of lineups over time. It changed multiple times a year for a few decades.
