We are trying to decide if we should go down for the NOLA show and want to see if it would be worth it.

I’m not a huge Cure fan but listened to the Disintigration album today for the first time and thought it was great.

Worth going to see in person?

That’s crazy. How old r u?!?

I’m going but I know deep down it’s not going to be like the good ole days Cure Concert. But hey maybe I’ll be pleasantly surprised
They were my first real concert in 1987. Been my fav band ever since.

U can YouTube their 2016 tour.

Edit to say I was most definitely pleasantly surprised and then some!!

They are great live. They add to their songs and they are generally harder and louder live than what you hear on albums. The sound is much more intense live. Watch the 2013 Austin City Limits on youtube for an example. They generally play about 2.5 to 3 hours and their set list is considerably different night to night.

They're very good. They usually weave their songs out a bit and do some very interesting playing. The energy is really good, despite the bigger venues they play.

Saw them play the entire Disintegration album on their 2015 tour in New Orleans. Really great stuff.

Yes, they are amazing. Go see them. They will play at least 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

They sold out Texas Stadium in summer, 1992. Of course Robert appeared in a E. Smith Jersey for the encore. Which worked the crowd into even more of a drunken lather.

Despite being hot and in that old stadium it’s one of the best concerts I’ve seen.

My wife went and saw them in... 2017... 2016? I don't know. A while back but not that long ago. Her and everyone she went with were blown away, as they were expecting some over-the-hill nostalgia trip. Show was long, expansive, and extremely solid.

I had tickets then got stuck in some work nonsense and had to cancel.

Wife and I are taking our 12 year old to see them in Dallas on 5/13 and could not be more excited. I only really got into them in the last 5 years, starting with Disintegration, which is indeed a masterpiece. I only really new the hits or radio songs and Burn from The Crow Soundtrack before discovering Disintegration, boy was I missing out all these years. Looking forward to seeing them!

We will be there as well with our 15 and 18-year-old sons. Going to be awesome! I started listening to them in like 1990 when I got into "indie" music along with skateboarding and such. They became a family thing for us within the last 5 years or so where everyone in the family really liked them, so I'm stoked to get to share the experience with the whole family.

My whole crew just saw Tyler Childers last week, which was also amazing. Going to be a little different vibe at this show though Tyler is dressing a little Robert Smith-ish these days.

In addition, this will be my 12 year old's first concert, lucky kid!

Yup. Even in his 90's Robert Smith still plays, sings and puts on a great show live. Seriously, OP, go see them. You will enjoy the show.

Yeah, go see them. It's been years since I saw them in NYC, but Robert Smith is someone who appreciates and respects his audience. As a result he and the band put on a good show....very tight.

Saw them headline at Coachella around...2005 or so. They are really good live. I wasn't even a fan, but they definitely deserved their headline slot.

What's the best way to get tickets for 2-4 people now? I see ticketmaster has them but are the not transferable? Any secondary market? I read somewhere that Robert restricts resale to keep prices in check?

Do they use the Suites at Smoothie King? Would love to see this in a suite.
