Actually, a lot of Deep Purple's stuff would qualify, that was just the first one to come to mind since it got a lot of airplay.

I still think we're going to have definition problems with a subjective word like "heavy" -

I think a lot of Zeppelin is heavy, but Slayer fans don't, etc.
