She wants to give great honor to a legend and felt like she screwed it up. Didn't care that it was on live tv. She wanted to redo it anyways. I think that's a pretty solid indication of the fact that she cares more about the performance than her reputation which is pretty cool.

Yet another reason why Metallica should never do shows like this. They can't even get his mic to work until halfway through the song. Unreal. You could tell he was pissed & rightly so. Never come back to play this bastion of corporate greed, Metallica. Never again...
