Venue is awful: Soul Kitchen in Mobile, AL.

I disagree. I've been there a few times, always had a good time.

Saw Reverend Horton Heat there, with that rock-a-billy crowd in full attire. Crazy.

Sorry I'm missing Isbell.

Isbell's vocals were even better than I expected. He absolutely killed Cover Me Up. I was thoroughly impressed with the 400 unit too. I really wish I could make the Nola show to see more of them. Jason was also really funny with the crowd, which was great. And personally, I really enjoyed Dawes. I like the way that they write songs. It's different, but I like it.

I highly recommend Lee Bains. I'm seeing them again next month and it will be my 3rd show this year. Awesome band and some of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

Agreed. It's a shame he was the opening act and had such a short set. I would almost drive to Nola to see a full show, but Sunday night is just too late in the weekend.

Just got home from HOB. Easily one of the best shows I've seen. Played a bunch off the new album, bunch from DBT. Really enjoyed the shite out of it, minus the $9 beers.

Cary Hudson is one of my all time favorites. Puts on a great live show.

Doc, would you care to share your stories about Isbell being a douche/a-hole? He seemed like the complete opposite by the way he interacted with the crowd, so I've always been curious because I have heard it from others as well.
