New album, "Science Fiction", released today. Be sure to tap into your high school emo days and give it a listen, so far it is fantastic. Really looking forward to seeing them at Voodoo this year.

They've really evolved into a totally different band the last 3 albums. The new album is awesome.

Damn

I thought the vinyl released two weeks ago and full release was this week. Either way, just saw it on Apple Music and got all giddy.

Agreed about how they've evolved. It's almost as if they've aged as I have. I've never listened to a new album from them and thought "I feel too old to listen to this now". Cant say the same for many other bands I liked in high school.

Exactly. I can't get caught listening to a Taking Back Sunday album in public, I'm nearly 30 for Godsakes. I don't feel that way about Brand New.

Great song. Slowdance on the Inside was quite emotional for 16 year old me

This thread

Am I damn near 28?
Yes.

Did I drive to Austin last summer to go to a Taste of Chaos concert featuring Early November, Saosin, TBS, and Dashboard Confessional?

Yes. Yes, I did.

Pretty pumped to see Brand New at Voodoo this year

Man...I probably would've done the same

Early November is some deep cuts though. Haven't really listened to them since they did that three part album. The Room's Too Cold is the GOAT.

Anyone a fan of Northstar back in the day? Caught them, Moneen, and Chronic Future in Houma wayyyyy back. Think they were passing through town for whatever reason and just picked up a gig last minute. Lead singer of moneen signed my pumas...thought I was so cool

Bro, come on now. TBS's first album destroyed Brand New's first album imo. But ever since, there's no contest.

Yup. Think they broke up and the lead formed Cassino, which I think is still active. Always thought Northstar was super underrated, Pollyanna is a great album.

Looking up some of these old bands got me reminiscing on the countless hours I spent on Purevolume.com trying to discover the coolest band no one ever heard of

I booked that show.....I think my old band walk though walls played it also.

I was in good with their booking agent, and was able to book a few good shows......had eliott and red animal war, dynamite boy, plain white t's, vendetta red, mock orange, umbrellas, and a lot more come through Houma when I was doing booking

No shite? It was at a restaurant if I remember correctly. Sushi place maybe? Think I was in 9th grade, was so pumped for that show. It was also right before Chronic Future hit it big...sort of.

Surprisingly it's still around and looks like it's still geared toward alternative/emo/etc.

Was looking through Apple Music, apparently Circa Survive has a new album coming out soon. Anyone kept up with them? Don't think I've listened since On Letting Go came out.
