"The Village Green Preservation Society"

Live version, with brass section, from a BBC TV broadcast in 1973. The horns give it a nostalgic, Edwardian quality,

Appropriate for our current season, from a 1967 TV appearance

"Funny Face"

Written by Dave Davies. The chorus in this is one of the most gorgeous things you'll ever hear.

The Kinks are probably the most underrated band ever.
Sunny Afternoon, Well Respected Man, Victoria and This Time Tommorow are fabulous. Add the requisite classics- You Really Got Me, Lola ,All Day And All Of The Night, Tired Of Waiting For You and, of course Waterloo Sunset.
These guys might be The perfect English Invasion band.
Burdman, Herchel.........you know I speak the truth.

They are the ultimate English band, the way the Beach Boys are the ultimate American band

The best Kinks stuff is pretty top shelf. But they put out a ton of average music too.

OK big guy. I couldn't agree more. Ray Davies and Brian Wilson are so good it's scary. Arguably the two best songwriters of our time.
