Pictures of You

I've been looking so long at these pictures of you
That I almost believe that they're real
I've been living so long with my pictures of you
That I almost believe that the pictures are
All I can feel

The Cure

And John Lennon...Grow Old With Me

Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love

John Lennon

If i were stuck on an island and only had The Smiths and Cure to listen to I'd be perfectly content.

I love Martha Davis' voice.

"Mission of Mercy" is another good Motels song.

I don't know why he gets lumped into the stuff I like. Should be 80s pop only and nothing close to First Wave or alt or college. Good grief I hate that guy.

eta all of these guys were extremely talented and underrated because of 'bubblegum pop' hits. some melancholy and some real talent here..and i'm only scratching the surface.

the 80s was an incredibly talented time

- talk talk
- tears for fears
- paul young
- ABC
- spandau ballet
- simple minds
- thomas dolby
- OMD
- duran duran (just because they were overplayed on the radio doesnt take away from their body of work)
- echo and the bunnymen
- thompson twins

eta i bet i can post a track from each of those bands above that would surprise most people that are only marginally familiar with the 80s.

Same reason I hate basically all pop music.
