Are Alabama Shakes coming with them? I saw they were opening for them on many of their shows this tour. This link doesn't confirm or deny this.

They are still awesome. Cooley is the backbone of the band's live sound. Besides, they now close shows with Grand Canyon... and it's epic. It's replaced the Living Bubba and/or 18 Wheels of Love as the emotional high point of the show.

As much as I like so many of the songs, I could never go see them live because, Hood.

I fricking love Hood's songs, and his voice. I don't get the Hood-haters.

That was my first DBT show and unfortunately I didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would.

Admittedly, I'm an Isbell guy...might have been that I was so impressed with Strand of Oaks and Uncle Lucius and it was a bit of a letdown following those two.

Strand of Oaks

was even better than I had hoped they'd be. the replacements cover sealed the deal too. that was one of the best rock and roll shows i've seen since i don't know when.

I don't like his songs or his voice. I don't particularly like him either.

Somebody has to say this in every DBT thread. Isbell has been gone almost 10 years. It's kind of good, because now we get solo Isbell stuff.

The vocals in the beginning The Sands of Iwo Jima are a prime example. My ears!!!!

I am still so fricking pissed about missing that set. I went to hogs to see SoO specifically. The people I was with took forever drinking and what not instead of getting on the bikes to roll out to the fest, because they really just wanted to see drive by truckers. Dbt were meh at best, and after seeing so many talk about how good strand of oaks were I get angry just thinking about it.

Hopefully strand of oaks plays around here again soon

It was a good flow on that stage that night. DBT def lagged a bit but Uncle Lucius and Strand of Oaks knew they had a new crowd they could capture. Prob played a bit more passionately, though Tim from SoO seems to be perennially passionate. Look fwd to whats next from him.

Uncle Lucius is playing House of Blues soon I saw.
