I don't know what genre to categorise them in, but I really enjoy everything these guys have put out since (and including) History From Below.

I'd expect them to have more widespread appeal, but no one I talk to ever seems to have heard of them.

Anyone here a fan?

I like them, seen a couple of shows, lead singer tends to be hammered so the shows aren't great. At least the shows I saw

Loved History from Below and the self titled. Was on a big kick when they came and played OEJ. Love the Middle Brother thing too.

I listened to them about 6-7 years ago regularly, but sort of fell off for me. I'd classify them as standard indie hipster rock.

Saw one show at Emo's in Austin and it was good, but nothing that really stuck out.

I really like their albums. But I kind of agree with you on the live shows. I liked their One Eyed Jacks show a few years ago, although he was definitely wrecked during the show. I also saw him solo at Gasa Gasa in January and he was a mess. Show was really bad. He looked drunk, fat, and pissed

California is on one of the playlists at the bar I work. Every time I hear it, the song is stuck in my head for the rest of my shift.

Saw them live once in 2015 and it was very good. Shame that I think they are done. Saw mlv solo last summer and it was also really good.

Yea - record put out by McCauley (Deer Tick), Vasquez (DS) and Goldsmith (Dawes). They are the shite.

Saw them live and MLV solo as well. Like em both. Was surprised at how much I dig his solo stuff to be honest.
