After watching new basement tapes and a cool video with the three mentioned above... I'm digging Dawes. Taylor is pretty dynamic as a musician.

I couldn't get into Dawes from just the few songs I had heard on Sirius.
Then I saw them on Guitar Center Sessions and was impressed.
Then I watched New Basement Tapes and was pretty blown away at Taylor's talent and ear for music. Dynamic is a good term OP.
Long story short, I bought a few of their records and now I'm a fan.

I must have been distracted or in some mood when I first gave them a listen a year or so ago.

That first Dawes album was the shite and just absolutely soundtracked my married life for a year or more. I can listen to that album and just be flooded with nostalgia. It specifically reminds me of a trip my wife and I took to Santa Fe when we listened to it non stop. Second and third ones never really grabbed me as much, though I like them well enough.
Check out Middle Brother as well. It's a "super group" with Taylor and dude from Delta Spirit and dude from Deer Tick.

I don't get amped for Dawes, but I just like them.
