One of the most iconic artists of all time. He was truly one of a kind

His album came out just 2 days ago, which was also his birthday. I guess he wanted to hang on until then...

Bought Space Oddity in 1970. People I played it for hated it. I figured he'd be big.

Enjoy the next level, Dave!

I wouldn't say influential so much as I would say iconic

First Lemmy, now Bowie, shite 2016 started out rough for musicians.

My introduction to Bowie was from watching Labyrinth as a kid. I love that movie. In my teens I started listening to his music. He definitely marched to his own drum. Truly an icon.

Heroes, man. And China Girl. Panic in Detroit. Golden Years.

I got up for work this morning, casually looked over my news feeds and...frick. Didn't see this one coming at all. If Bowie survived the '70s and '80s the way he lived them, I figured he could survive anything.

I never met the guy, but I'm gonna miss him, I really am.

He might not be the most influential, but it would be a damned close call. Bowie's huge effect on contemporary and later artists is badly overlooked by lots of people.

Wow. That's a shocker. Apparently kept his illness secret for quite awhile.

Truly important musician.
