Here in downtown Jax.

Missed about half of Crowbar. Damn Christmas party!!! They were fricking badass though of course.

High On Fire onstage right now. frickers are absolutely killing it.

ETA: Adding some funny video I took. Guy wound up onstage and got shoved off by one of the techs Pretty damn funny.

I think the tech had had it. This was at least the fourth fan to wind up up there, including one who practically flew through the air and wound up slamming into Jeff's bass as he was playing, and knocking over his mike stand.

Anyway... LINK

I've seen a lot of metal shows in my day. Some really crazy intense ones in small packed clubs too. I have to say that High On Fire ranks up there as one of the most intense shows I've seen. Bodies flying everywhere from start to finish. Stage diving, people body-surfing and winding up on stage then getting shoved off by the security guy. And they were absolutely BADASS!!! So happy Crowbar opened for them, because I may not have come otherwise. Kinda new and late to the party on High On Fire. Holy shite they were phenomenal.

I did get to talk to Kirk for a bit too after they finished. Asked him about the Varsity show and he said "It was killer".

No one giving you any love, so I will.

That sounds awesome. I would love to see High on Fire, soon. I've got a night at home without either the wife or kids right now. I should be out seeing some music, but we had a wrestling tournament all day, and I'm freaking exhausted.

Holy shite that sounds awesome!

I saw Crowbar right after Katrina. My neck was sore for days because I was rocking out so hard.

I've never gotten to see HOF. I've heard they play absurdly loud though.

I hear ya man. It's usually the solo nights when the wife and kids are away that I'm able to catch shows too.

Yeah I highly recommend a High On Fire show if they come nearby. Don't know if you've seen 'em before or not. Sounds like maybe not. This was my first time and I'm damn glad I did.

Yeah man great fricking show!! Never gets old seeing Crowbar. I can imagine that may have been an especially charged show right after Katrina.

I actually had no problem with the volume tonight. Loud enough for sure but not crazy loud. That's what I need too at my advanced age.

And HELL YES!!! If they come around, make SURE you catch 'em. They were fantastic!!

I'm not a fan of Crowbar at all, but I am of High On Fire. Hearing your description of their show means I really have to make a point to go see them the next time they come to Baton Rouge.

Yes sir, for sure. I will say that I have a buddy who lives in Gainesville and saw them down there on Friday night. While he did say that they were fantastic, it sounds like it wasn't quite as crazy. Hopefully when you do get to see them it will be off the chain like last night.

Yep. Saw that exact bill out at Jax Beach in June 2005. Fathers Day in fact. Told my wife all I wanted for Fathers Day was a yard pass to the show. Me and a buddy who is also a father went to it. Holy CRAP what a show!!!

That night was also my introduction to Alabama Thunderpussy, as they opened it up in style. Man they tore it up and set quite a tone.

That show is probably in my top ten concerts I've seen.

They just played together at a festival in San Antonio, lots of good bands.

I caught Crowbar and Soul Fly right after the festival. Seen Crow Bar probably 6 or 7 times (always good) but had never seen Soul Fly. Highly recommend if they come to your area, heavy heavy.

Agreed. Caught them at the same venue at Jax Beach in '08. Great show.
