Concerts requiring credit card to sit in floor seats

I recently purchased a floor seat to a show and there is no ticket and you must show the card you purchased the ticket with and an ID to get to your seats.
Several artists are doing this now to stop scalping. These seats are non transferable. Is there any way around this so I can sell the ticket?

you could sell them to someone with the same name as you

You can try and call the vendor and cancel the order but other than that, you're stuck with it. That's the downside of over-zealous artists and their attempt to prevent the reselling of tickets.

Let someone borrow your credit card for the night

even with the same name, if its a credit card, they would also have to have the same credit card and address and all that. so maybe sell it to someone who likes like you and you feel comfortable with letting them borrow your credit card and ID.

this is a great way to prevent scalping

That's awesome

if there was a strict policy on this from the origin of purchase, it would erase pretty much all scalping for concerts.

over zealous? bots buy up tickets when they go on sale... buying up 100's of tickets and then charge insane prices.
requiring to show a valid CC would prevent a lot of this from happening. even if they enforce it just for the floor seats, that would be great.

Just using the OP as an example of the other side of the argument. Plans change. People get sick. Flights get cancelled. Babysitters cancel. So the die-hard fan has to just eat expensive floor tickets?

nope, they should be able to transfer them to another person (online only, with a credit card)

They should. I agree. Currently Ticketmaster doesn't allow that for paperless tickets. Thus the over-zealous comment.

Should be able to "market place" them and be bought by anyone with a credit card.

Once again I agree. I wish that were the case. Ticketmaster wants full control of your ticket.
