If you aren't familiar with the Jayhawks I highly recommend going to this concert. Underrated and they sound fantastic. Not sure what genre they'd be, maybe alt rock, maybe Americana? Anyway I don't think you'd be disappointed if you went.

If you have Spotify go give their top songs a listen.

I recommend the following:

Save it for a rainy day
I'd run away
Waiting for the sun
I'm gonna make you love me
Stumbling through the dark

Caught them a few times back in the 90s/early 00s... I think they definitely lost something when Olson left, but still very good..

Ive always been more of a louris fan, but i agree. Their acoustic album together was pretty cool.

Never seen them live, but if they can sound like this, it should be one hell of a great show.

Jayhawks were awesome last night.

I forgot how much gary can shred when he wants to.

Hopefully it wont be another 13 years before they come back again.

I used to like them a lot when Mark Olson was in the band and in fact when they played the Varsity back in '95 we went and ate at Louie's after the show and Mark Olson was there. He was by himself and my brother in law who has no capacity for being starstruck started up a conversation with him and he just sat there and shot the shite with us for a long time. No music talk, just regular old bullshitting. He was a great guy.

I have to admit I lost interest after he left because to me, the Louris/Olson harmonizing was most of the appeal.
