For those who may have forgotten or maybe never realized... Not only was he immensely talented, this man had the perfect stage presence. I'm sure most Metallica fans have seen this video but it's worth another look since I'm sure it's been awhile.
Check it out. He commands the stage throughout. Fantastic:

For Whom The Bell Tolls (Cliff 'Em All) -- Like a fricking BOSS!!

Holy shite he passed on WAYYY too soon.

Good thread timing, I gave a Ric 4003 some TLC on the repair bench this morning and the post-fix test drive was snippets of songs off RTL and MOP. Nailed "that" sound (club-sized Ampeg combo) but I admittedly couldn't do the playing part due justice. CB was a really, really good player.

When I was growing up, my best friend hand and older brother who was big into metal music. He was also a bass player, took it serious, and was successful in his own right.

I remember first meeting him, was at his place hanging out with his brother. I wanted to see what he was using, opened the case and saw pictures of him and cliff in there. 13 year old me was floored.

Cliff was something else, if he had lived and Kirk had died, I wonder if they would have asked Dave to come back. Crazy how much something can effect so many things.

For me, Cliff will always be about Orion. The 1st time I saw Cliff 'em All and the credits at the end suddenly cut to Orion, I lost itl

This would never have happened. You don't invite someone back who constantly badmouths you and claimed to write most of your entire song catalog. That's what he was doing in the days of Master.

It took a very long time for Mr. Mustaine to live his life with a clear head. We're talking decades.

He was bitter..a lot of that was fueled by the fact he was in a thrash fight. Successful in his own..yet always playing catch up
