Beware of Mr. Baker

If you're a Cream fan or just a classic rock fan in general this was a very well done documentary. Ive always known Ginger Baker's cheese had slid off his cracker but I had no idea he was such a lunatic. What a monster of a player though. He was such a pioneer of heavy music Im sure a huge influence of every drummer since his time, whether they realize it or not. I think he had as much of an impact on the drumming world as Hendrix had on the guitar world. My brother is a drummer (and a fantastic one at that), and I know he puts Baker on a pedestal so I would assume others would as well.

Great movie. After watching it, I understood why he was never voted Father of the Year.

I watched it a few weeks ago. Great drummer, miserable human.

Really amazing doc. Dude is completely off the rails. Parts of it were sad, others hilarious. No wonder Clapton and Bruce didn't want to play with him. Watched the Keith Richards doc as well, very entertaining. He's a pretty complex guy, apparently.

Always considered him one of the GOAT. Had cream lived a little longer I think the general public would view him on par with Bohnam. Both were fantastic jazz/swing drummers that pushed the envelop as to what the drummer could do for a band's sound.

Almost watched this last night. Instead I went with The Wrecking Crew, also awesome. I had no idea the use of studio musicians was so widespread back then.
Think I'll watch this one tonight.

Watched it several months ago.
It is fantastic.
It is fantastic.

As a big fan of Cream, I always wonder how good they could've really been if they could've stayed together another few years at least.

I saw that a couple of years ago and find myself wondering sometimes what he's doing and who he's threatening and who is gonna get their asses beat...

Great doc. Fascinating to watch his self-destructiveness.

Thanks for the YouTube link--I have been wanting to watch this for a while as every person that has told me about this documentary says Ginger is absolutely nuts!

Nuttier than an outhouse rat but a drummin' fool
