Swift was 2014.

I forgot to include Tenement in my list. Will revise later.

I'm enjoying art angels but so far there's no oblivion or Genesis that knocks my socks off

Honestly surprised I don't see them mentioned more in this thread or on this board in general.

That style and all the vocal harmonies is right up my alley so I honestly have it 1B more than 2 on my list. I've got a lot of respect for them being able to do the vocal harmonies live too. A lot of bands aren't able to do that

Everyone one of y'alls list are the same (except for a couple). There is so much great music out there from all genres. Why are 95% of y'all stuck in the same genre? I know the PR departments target y'alls age group, but with technology and access to music from all over to world, I just don't get it. I don't believe y'all are that much of sheeple. I'm not meaning this to sound like a smart arse, it's in honest question for me.

Yeah that is funny how you see the majority of people's lists the same each year.

I don't think the lists are as homogeneous as you are making them out to be. And you can post a diverse list yourself instead of just shitting on everyone else.

Easy big fella. I am not "shitting" on everyone's list. I just notice it's all the same and i was curious why. I can't post a list... that would require alot of work. I don't follow when the albums come out that I listen to and I don't really keep up with it like that. I can share with you my favorite artists.

Most of those lists are multigenre, many containing really different genres. Mine had metal, hip hop, electronic, singer songwriter, indie folk and indie rock. But yeah: most of the lists have stuff that appears in just about every "indie" music blog year end list. Very little of any of these lists have mainstream pop music on them.

I guess I just don't see the lists being all that similar. Sure a bunch of albums have been listed on many lists (Sufjan, Jason Isbell, Courtney Barnett, etc), but those are just great widely acclaimed albums. There are also alot of albums that are unique to one list.

Plus I think a decent amount of genres have been touched on. It may not be the most diverse grouping ever, but I imagine the vast majority of lists come from white males aged 18-45, so it probably won't be the most diverse sampling.
