I was watching the HOF induction with one of my kids yesterday and he asked if bands could keep making music after they had been inducted. I said they definitely could, but it got me to thinking that there haven't been many quality releases by artists after they were inducted.

I came up with:
Bruce Springsteen - The Rising
Paul McCartney - New
Paul Simon - So Beautiful or So What
Tom Petty - Mojo
REM - Collapse Into Now

Most of these would be considered pretty good at best when compared to the overall body of work.

Dylan's Time Out of Mind would be up there.

Johnny Cash had a few contenders. All the albums with Rick Rubin were post-HOF.

Neil Young has released a boatload of albums since his 1995 induction. Several of them are deserving of mention, but if I had to choose just one I'd go with Prairie Wind.

I don't see how anyone could top this. Those American Recordings albums are just masterpieces, mostly.
