More jamming, more improvisation, more funk… less gay barbershop quartet stuff.

They did 1 a cappella song, and it was a whopping 2 minutes and 40 seconds.

They jammed about as much as you'd expect for a day time festival set. 16 minute DwD, 13 min Light, 9 min Sand, bunch of 8-9 minute songs.

more funk

good luck with that for 3.0 Phish.

Definitely wasn't a great show, but it was decent.

The show was merely aight (to the best of my memory TTFWIW), I just like ruffling feathers about the serenade.

Panic brings out Mardi Gras Indian ensembles at jazz fest and that is more my speed.

No doubt. I hope I can make it that Thursday to see them. Have never seen them at JF.

As far as gnar Phish, I would just tell OP to explore their 1997 runs and go from there.

Can't wait to get those Spectrum 97 discs next month. Yes, I still have a cd player.

Hands down the Atlanta show on March 26th, 1997.

Gotta love Phish fans. If you want to get into Phish, just go to MSG next year years for their 3 day sets. Nothing beats being there in person, and those MSG sets are the best they have these days.

ETA: the 3/26/97 was in complete jest because every “phish” fan can rattle off 20 performances that they deem as the crunchiest because one or 2 of their favorite songs are jammed how they appreciate them. When it comes down to it, they’re all the same when broken down by decades. Once again, just see them live at MSG.

Its a bad show. Not sure what else to say, that show sucked arse. Festival sets tend to be pretty vanilla affairs with Phish tbh

The ending of that song is major chord bliss.

You can feel good!

12/31/95 - considered by many as their best show. It’s three sets so maybe a little overwhelming for a beginner.

Not a huge Phish fan, but have actually listened to this a handful of times. It makes sense people would say this. It is very good.

Best way to truly appreciate Phish is at a live show. There's a unique vibe amongst the audience that make their music even more enjoyable.
