Another source for recording info

Here is another source for a look at the writing and recording of all of their recordings prior to the Anthology stuff.
Emerick is a good resource but has some opinion mixed in.
Awesome, thanks! I think I've heard about this.

When you have a minute, look up Emmerick's take on The Kinks. It's absolutely hilarious.

do you have or are you familiar with the book "All the songs"? In doing a little more browsing for books to read about them I came across this one. Basically it's just every song they've ever made and a backstory + info about it.

Granted this isn't about the actual band members themselves as people and is more about hte music but this sounds like it'd be awesome.

I have it. It's not bad.

I have every major publication released in the U.S. about the group (The Beatles) post 1977.

The Complete Beatles Songs and A Hard Days Write are also very good.

how is this different than "all the songs"? Is there one you'd recommend over another ?

Not really. They all kind of start running together after awhile.

They're all good.

That McCartney one that he put out last year regarding all the lyrics is pretty boring.

Someone gave me that one for xmas. I still like it, but it's pretty light on content. The podcast is better. Also, I care way less about lyrics than the music itself.

Which is the one where the guy went back to the Abbey Road archives and basically transcribed all the studio banter recordings?

Today at 1:20 EST marks the 60th anniversary of the Beatles touching down at Idlewild, officially kicking off Beatlemania in America.

Been listening to Beatles since I was kid in the 60s/70s and I still can't remember which songs are on which albums.

I'm a loser.

Oh, I'm great with that.

My new book I'm starting today is Ticket to Ride by Larry Kane. He was the only journalist that was with the band on their entire first tour of America in 1964 and 1965. And he was only 21 at the time.

The opening anecdote is a girl he THINKS might have been as old as 14 offering him "anything" to be put in a room with Paul...
