Are there any music stores in Baton Rouge, like Zeagler that host some kind of casual jam meetup like Weekend Warriors or something?

Get your MIND out of the gutter! I'm trying to reach those who play keyboard, guitar and sing, but who are not part of the open mic scene, and such.

"Blue Oyster Bar, Wednesdays 5pm"

Can't go there, it has to be earlier in the day, and at a place that DOESN'T serve seafood. I hate oysters, and seafood.

I'd prefer to have cakes, cookies and chips and dip at an open mic or music showcase place.

STOP reccommending seafood bars, and other weird places.

Again, please give some different suggestions that I haven't seen from other places. I'm tired of people recommending places that serve big meals.

I want to attend a jam showcase that serves snacks ONLY, along with drinks, both alcoholic and soda. Something similar to what North Gate Tavern does.

And I also can't trust anyone when a person just gives a random reccommendation, but doesn't back it up with experience, or at least allow me to talk to a guy who shares my music tastes, and isn't some big important member of the BR music community.

It would be nice if I got these recommendations from a guy with a good head on his shoulders, who shares more of my musical tastes, and is merely looking for a few rare music buddies. Those who are into pop and soft rock, and would like to get together to jam to some great pop hits from the 80s to today, and work on some originals together.

You have to be some weird arse little troll you just have to. Nobody asks for help and shits on everybody who's trying to help and give suggestions more than you do. You need to learn to have more of an open mind. If you can't do that, then just get the frick. Also stop with the God damn threads. If have have a bunch of questions, which I know will never satisfy you either way so it's probably a waste, then keep it on one thread, instead of ruining the Music Board by starting 5 other unnecessary threads.

You were looking for an open mic night at the Olive Garden yesterday

So? That's a place that I like eating and that my parents go to all the time. A place where I know the food is good.

In contrast, a lot of these young people who recommend certain restaurants may have an undeveloped pallete, and haven't had good food yet, so I don't trust going somewhere where some young man claims the food is good, but puts more emphasis on a side thing.

Why is this important? Because my parents would probably want to eat there too.

A good case of an instance of an open mic that I wanted to try, and that I was right to avoid was "La Fonda's". I learned from Cam Pyle, that everybody was going more for the Margaritas and that the food was bad.

And yet you think fricking Olive Garden is good. Now I KNOW you're just trolling.

i've personally exchanged emails with him and know people who have interacted with him in person.

he has severe mental problems and I don't expect his time on TD to last very long this go around.
