They're also making us buy tickets right now to shows that won't happen for like almost a fricking year

Kind of annoying

I like Arcade Fire, but this seems really pretentious. I would hope this isn't actually enforced. Can't imagine it would be.

Phish told it's fanbase to dress up in costumes in '95 for the Halloween costume contest

Does that make Phish stupid?

Uh, I think Halloween is an obvious exception, bro.

Maybe AF is just trying to cultivate that Halloween sort of feeling for its fan base all the time in a long arena tour

Maybe they should be commended for their efforts to make their live shows a unique experience

Arcade Fire isn't even really that hipster anymore

They won a fricking Grammy. I think you have to like turn in your hipster-cred card if you win a Grammy.

Their manager found a helluva hedge fund.

"PLEASE wear formal attire or costume". It's only a request, not a demand. Some are being a little over dramatic on this board.

Sounds like a James Murphy move. He required black or white for his final LCD show. I guess if he's going to shite up a great band he won't stop at just ruining their music.

Geez, a bunch a hard asses. It's fun to dress up. What's wrong with getting all dolled up for a show. It sounds like fun, and kind of a throw back to a different era. I wouldn't want to do it all the time, but for one show? Sounds like fun.

Lighten up, people.

I can see both sides of it, but it's just strange demanding your fans to dress up..
