I jam Sigur Ros while driving around all the time. My kids love them.

This is probably the best song I've ever seen played live. They closed both shows I saw them do with it, and it blew my mind both times. First time I just sat there in stunned silence for a good 5 minutes afterwards trying to figure out what I just witnessed.

That crossover from pop music to pop music that is kinda like R&B was huge.

I can't think of anyone that is Beatles worthy,(someone that is hugely popular across all genres) 5 years ago I would of said Cold Play, but whatever happened to them? I would agree with JT or Taylor swift, Eminem, Lady gaga, black eyed peas, none are really bands though. All are an embarrassment being compared to the Beatles. It will never be the same, the most popular music seems to be driven by 14-16 yo girls. Did everyone like the Beatles in their prime, Or were there a large group of people that said they were too pop, then in hindsight got more popular?

Thats awesome. Hung out there a bit when I was in town the first weekend. Strangest bouncer ever. Dude was serious about people being quiet.

The Saint is a damn cool place, but that bouncer is fricking anal about the oddest things

And call me crazy but Queen gets my vote for the late 70s/early 80s. Their music is timeless, IMO.

I really like Sigur Ross, but I agree its hard to crown them when I don't understand what they're saying.

I think The White Stripes will last. I think the prime time Chili Peppers will last/are lasting. And like em or hate em, Coldplay is going to last.

Don't mean to insult anyone's musical preferences but bands like Silversun Pickups (which I also enjoy) and Cut/Copy and jesus christ Imagine Dragons just aren't even close to the same level as Radiohead, Beatles, MJ, etc.

What is the point of arguing over who the "best band" is? There will never be a consensus.

Ya, its why a lot of Panic fans have trouble with fish. When your used to such banal music its tough to dig deeper.

Musical depth? Lmao. Depth has nothing to do the the terrible sounding vibrations that Arcade Fire's band produces.

Now again, that is my opinion, but I would believe that this decades "The Beatles" would need to be more universally liked than they are now.

I guess it's good I'm not one of them. I have zero trouble with Phish. Just their insecure phans are the ones that suck
