Anyone planning on trying to catch Opeth this fall?

They just announced a tour in support of their upcoming album, The Sorceress. The Sword will be the opening act.
As expected, no New Orleans date. I'm thinking about driving up to Dallas that Saturday for the concert at Gas Monkey Garage.
I really wish this was during a holiday weekend and not during the midst of football season.
Opeth Fall Tour Dates
Sep. 24 – San Bernardino, CA – Ozzfest Meets Knotfest @ San Manuel Amphitheater and Festival Grounds
Sep. 29 – Pittsburgh, PA – Stage AE
Sep. 30 – Silver Spring, MD – Fillmore
Oct. 01 – New York, NY – Radio City Music Hall
Oct. 02 – Boston, MA – House of Blues
Oct. 04 – Montreal, QC – Metropolis
Oct. 05 – Toronto, ON – Massey Hall
Oct. 07 – Detroit, MI – Fillmore
Oct. 08 – Akron, OH – Good Year Theater at East End
Oct. 09 – Chicago, IL – Riviera Theater
Oct. 10 – Minneapolis, MN – First Ave
Oct. 12 – Oklahoma City, OK – Diamond Ballroom
Oct. 13 – Houston, TX – Warehouse Live
Oct. 14 – Austin, TX – Emo’s
Oct. 15 – Dallas, TX – Gas Monkey Live
Oct. 18 – Las Vegas, NV – Brooklyn Bowl
Oct. 19 – Tempe, AZ – Marquee Theater
Oct. 21 – Sacramento, CA – Ace of Spades
Oct. 22 – San Francisco, CA – Warfield
Oct. 24 – Portland, OR – Roseland Theater
Oct. 25 – Seattle, WA – Moore Theater
Oct. 26 – Vancouver, BC – Orpheum
Also, why does damn near every single metal band on tour seem to pass through Houston these days? It's almost become on par with Los Angeles and New York in terms of being a can't-miss city for bands these days. I'm seriously jealous of how many good touring acts schedule a stop there.

Houston is the fourth largest city in the country. Why would anyone skip it?

I'm really going to try to talk my wife into a yard pass for the Houston show. Unfortunately, that's less than a week from her birthday.

I admittedly just like to bitch about Texas from time to time.
Plus, it's still crazy to think that Houston is only behind New York, L.A., and Chicago in terms of population.
What's even more astounding is that San Antonio, Austin, and Fort Worth are all faster growing cities.

Since they announced their new album, I've been re-listening to their albums. Forgot how great Ghost Reveries was. Probably their GOAT album (IMO).

Definitely will make the Houston show.
Hard to argue with that. I'd put it up there with Blackwater Park, My Arms, Your Hearse, and Damnation.
Although I really dig the new direction. Pale Communion had a cool vibe.
