From what it sounds like, Brandon Flowers' new album is going to be textbook new wave and synthpop and it actually sounds pretty good.

I like some songs by them, some I don't. Haven't heard any of his solo stuff, I'll check it out.

I haven't listened to any of their songs in years, but I always liked the Killers. I'm going to have to listen to them when I get home.

The first album was great. Declined after that

Lonely Town

Specifically, this song off his new album is amazing. Has a very 80s sounding synth with lyrics analogous to "Every Breath You Take" by the Police

I like the first two albums, but that is all that I've heard from them. The second album gets better with every listen.

I wouldn't post that. Pegging it to a crappy era in music and comparing to a shitty pop band.....hmmmmm

I don't like most of their stuff. It's a little too much synthesizer pop for my tastes, and I usually find the lead singer's voice annoying.

With that being said, I really like their single "Runaways"

I have a soft spot in my heart for "Read my Mind" because it was the warmup track for a spinning class I did for like a year.

Anyway, they're a damned solid band, imo. Have some really well written songs.

The Killers have always sounded way too vanilla for my tastes. Good for the Top 40 crowd I guess?

Probably a repost, but this comic set to the song Mr. Brightside is pretty cool:

I've been on a Killers kick. And, imho, they sound nothing like a pop top 40.

Their first album is great. Second album is pretty good. Battleborn and Day and Age have some great tracks.
