Thanks for posting this! I looked ahead at OEJ's calendar and saw Courtney Barnett is playing in June.

Sorry that I did not respond. I was the with my girlfriend and was trying to be mindful of phone time.

The crowd was scary small up until AA started playing. I think a large portion of the crowd came to support the opening act. Seems like family, girlfriends, and friends of the band. Btw, The Eastwood Smokes did a pretty good job. That drummer has some singing chops and the some of the songs were pretty good.

BJ commented during the show that the crowd was bigger than it was last year and joked that they had played to "like 3 fricking people" and those of us who were at that show shouted and he said "well maybe 5."

I spoke to him after the show. He seemed encouraged that the crowd was larger and really liked the venue. He did play a 1 song acoustic encore of "Water in the Well." They are excited about The Varsity on Wednesday are gonna keep trying to break into the New Orleans market, somehow.

The Hattiesburg show has been rescheduled for the Fall, probably October on a Friday or Saturday.

Setlist included most of the Wolves album and most of Burn Flicker Die, "I Hope He Breaks Your Heart", "Anne Marie", "Hurricane", "Katherine Belle" and John Prine's "Spanish Pipedream (Blow Up Your TV)".

Wolves:
Southern Sadness, Wolves, Family Problem, Losing Side of 25, Man I'm Supposed to Be, and Who Needs a Song

Burn. Flicker. Die:
Cape Fear River, St. Mary's, Abe Lincoln, Lonely Ain't Easy, Casualties, and Burn. Flicker. Die.

See y'all Wednesday night.

Hard to get too upset about the attendance last night with the weather and all. Not to mention they're more of a Varsity band anyway.

It was absolutely gorgeous in the Quarter and there were very few people around. Great night down there. Free parking and all!
